Description
Aerys I Targaryen, son of Daeron II the Good, inherited the Realm after the Great Spring Sickness that killed his father and nephews. A scholar, cultured and bookish character he didn't desire the Crown, and was merely a puppet of his uncle, Lord Brynden Rivers, bastard of Aegon IV, named Bloodraven (we know him ins ASoIaF as the Three Eyed Crow), who was his Hand of the King.
My main reference from this artwork was Jose Moreno Carbonero portrait of Carlos, Prince of Viana:
Aerys is here shown perplexed, or at least pensative, because he has just read the prophecy that foresees the rebirth of the Dragons. However his thoughts are disturbed by the arrival of Bloodraven, albino, greenseer, and with only one eye (the other was lost during his duel with Aegor Bittersteel). Some say Bloodraven uses black magic to control the King, that he can turn himself into a dog, or a mist, and that he has thousand eyes and one.
In the background a tapestry with a triumphant equestrian Targaryen King, maybe Daeron the Young Dragon.
